Native Voices: From the American Territories

In addition to its 50 states, the U.S. is currently a stakeholder in several regions in the Pacific Ocean and Caribbean Sea. These regions make up today's American territories.

Though they do not receive representation and full benefits as recognized states, these territories still fall under U.S. federal jurisdiction.

When we think of the Americas, we cannot forget these territories and the indigenous voices they hold.

Today, all U.S. territories and freely associated states include:

Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, Guam, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the Republic of Palau.

Below you will find a range of writing composed by (and some about) authors native to these territories. All hyperlinked titles can be found in the Menlo Library.
