Citing a book

Basic model for citing a book
In-text (Author, Year)
References Author, A. A. (Year). Title of work: Capital letter also for subtitle. Publisher. https://doi.org/xx.xxx/yyyyy (if available)
 
A book with one author
In-text (Hawking, 1988, p. 42)
References Hawking, S. (1988). A brief history of time. Bantam.
 
A book with two authors
In-text (King & Morrison, 2019)
References King, L., & Morrison, J. (2019). The power of habit. Random House.
 
A book with three or more authors
In-text (Smith et al., 2020)
References Smith, J., Brown, P., & Chen, L. (2020). Effective research. Sage.
  State the first author in the list and follow with et al. (which means "and all the others"). Be careful with the punctuation - there is no period after et
 
A chapter in an edited book

A book with an editor and an author

  Provide either the url or the name of the website where you found the book. If publication information is available, include it following the examples above.
 
A book read in a subscription database

  Generally, do not include the name or URL of the database for standard books; treat as if print unless the book is uniquely retrievable only from that database.
